Fragility Series, 2011

This body of work represents eroticism, as well as the anxiety I have towards the human condition. These paintings contain the idealist hope that we can view each other as one, while also understanding the intersectionalities with everyone’s identity. My anxiety is explored through my use of sinuous line and contour work that shows disproportioned human figures with nothing within them. These large pieces take over an entire room, playing with the experience of what is not tangible or seen; we see objects, that can only be related to subjectively. We as humans experience emptiness and nothingness in terms the distressing body language of each piece.
